The presence of a number of colleagues from Leicester was noted and welcomed, and an invitation to join us at future meeting was extended. The group particularly appreciated the very high quality speakers - Dr Anil Patel from London, Dr Will Russell from Leicester and Dr I Ahmed from Oxford. There were 5 registrar presentations. Dr Shaun Scott(Oxford) was congratulated for winning the prize for best trainee presentation at the scientific meeting.

Oxford Region Airway Group Website
Dr Rangasami(wexham Park Hospital) informed the group that the website had added a 'recent airway articles' section which Dr Chekairi had developed. The meeting asked Dr Rangasami if he could add a counter to the website to initially guage which areas of the site were being visited. The site can be visited at www.orag.co.uk

Airway workshops and ORAG courses
Dr Benham asked individuals to update the group on Airway Workshops.
Dr Dravid (Kettering General) commented that the AAGBI winter and annual meetings workshops continued to be well subscribed and he and Dr Marfin were continuing to organise the Dublin AAGBI meeting in September 2007.
Dr Scott (Oxford) and Dr Manji (Milton Keynes) reported on the success of the combined anaesthetic/ENT registrar meeting held in MKGH in November. Both specialities appreciated the diversity and relevance of the programme. It was likely that a further course would occur.
Dr Rangasami (WPH) intimated that Wexham had held it's 8th Airway workshop, and that future workshops would be open to any interested and would be free of charge! Dr Rangasami was congratulated on his fiscal ability and desire to run these workshops free of charge.
Dr Dravid and colleagues from Kettering reported on an airway workshop designed for non anaesthetists that they had developed and run in the Trust, They reported a high level of satisfaction from delegates.
Dr Popat updated the group on the Oxford Training the Trainers meeting which had been held in March 2007, and the most recent Oxford Difficult Airway Workshop , also in March 2007. There was a feeling that the Airway Trainers course would be best run by the RCA and Dr Popat was pursuing that. The workshop continued to attract a reasonable number of delegates, and had recently had an overhaul of the programme to increase the workshop time and reduce the plenary lectures. We had also introduced a delegate led case based discussion which had proved popular.
