Anterior Jaw Lift Manoeuvre

Anterior Jaw Lift Manoeuvre

A simple manual manoeuvre for airway clearance during orotracheal fibreoptic intubation in anaesthestised patients

Description - This requires the anaesthetic assistant to place one hand on the patient’s occiput to extend the head, while putting the thumb of the contralateral hand into the patient’s mouth, hooking it under the lower teeth, thus gripping the mandible and lifting it anteriorly.
